Storefront

Storefront basics

Your store's address, its pages and menu, the languages it speaks, how it appears in search, and what publishing does.

Your store's address

Every store gets a subdomain on Sellstamp, chosen during setup and changeable under Store settings → Details. On Growth and above you can serve the store from your own domain as well. See Custom domains.

Draft, preview, publish

Nothing you change on the storefront is live until you publish. The theme editor writes to a draft, the preview shows the draft exactly as a customer would see it, and publishing makes it live. Customers cannot see an unpublished store. Earlier published versions are kept, and you can restore one.

Pages and the menu

A store has many pages: the home page, a product page template, and any custom pages you add, such as About or FAQ. The menu links to them or to any URL, and any menu item can be shown as a button in the header. A store with no products at all, like a landing page or a local business site, is still a valid store. Some slugs are reserved because the storefront already uses them, blog among them.

Languages

Storefronts speak Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian and English out of the box. You can import your own translation file for any other language. The language is part of the URL, so a link in German stays German when it is shared, and search engines get a proper hreflang set.

Search engines

Store settings → Search sets the title and description search engines show for your store, and each product has the same panel for itself. Each store gets its own sitemap and robots.txt, and one switch keeps the whole store out of search if you want it private.

What a storefront does not have

  • A product search box for customers. Categories and the menu are how a catalogue is browsed.
  • JavaScript of your own, in any form. See The theme editor.
