Watermark PDF

Stamp text such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT, or your logo, across every page of a PDF, with the colour, angle and transparency you choose.

Choose or drop a PDF. It is opened in this tab and never uploaded.

Your file stays on your device

Your browser opens and processes the file itself. It is never uploaded, to Sellstamp or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Selling a PDF?

An ebook, a guide or a workbook: Sellstamp gives it a storefront and delivers it automatically the moment someone pays. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Choose a text watermark and type it, or an image watermark and choose a PNG or JPEG.
  3. Set the colour, size, angle and opacity.
  4. Press “Add the watermark” and download it.

Your files are not uploaded

The PDF is put together by this browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed here, and the result is handed back to you as a download. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, so there is no copy on a server to worry about afterwards, and no upload to wait for.

What a watermark can and cannot do

The watermark is drawn on top of each page, centred, at the opacity you set. It discourages copying and marks a draft; it does not stop anyone with a PDF editor from removing it. To control who can open or print the file, add a password with the protect PDF tool.

Characters

Text watermarks use Helvetica Bold, which covers Western European letters. Text with other letters (č, ć, đ, Cyrillic, Greek, Asian scripts) is drawn as a picture of the words in your system’s font, so it looks the same but cannot be selected.

Questions

How do I add a logo as a watermark?

Choose “Image” and pick a PNG or JPEG. A PNG with a transparent background looks best; set the width as a share of the page.

What opacity should I use?

Around 20 to 30% is visible without hiding the text underneath.

Can someone remove the watermark?

Yes, with a PDF editor. A watermark marks the file; it does not lock it. Combine it with a password if access matters.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Not in this tool yet: it stamps every page. Split the PDF, watermark the part you need, and merge them back.
