Edit PDF metadata

View and change a PDF's title, author, subject and keywords, or clear them before sharing the file. Nothing is uploaded.

Choose or drop a PDF. It is opened in this tab and never uploaded.

Your file stays on your device

Your browser opens and processes the file itself. It is never uploaded, to Sellstamp or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Selling a PDF?

An ebook, a guide or a workbook: Sellstamp gives it a storefront and delivers it automatically the moment someone pays. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF; its current details are filled in.
  2. Edit the fields, or press “Clear every field”.
  3. Press “Save the details” and download it.

Your files are not uploaded

The PDF is put together by this browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed here, and the result is handed back to you as a download. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, so there is no copy on a server to worry about afterwards, and no upload to wait for.

Which details

The document information most readers show: title, author, subject, keywords, and the programs that created it. The title is what a browser tab shows when the PDF is opened online, so it is worth setting before you publish a file.

Some PDFs also carry the same details in a second, XML block (XMP) that a few programs read instead. This tool edits the classic fields; the XMP block is left as it is.

Questions

How do I remove the author name from a PDF?

Clear the Author field (or press “Clear every field”) and save. Check the result in your PDF reader’s document properties.

Why does my browser tab show the file name instead of a title?

The PDF has no title set. Set one here and the tab shows it.

Does this change the content of the PDF?

No. Only the document details change; the pages are untouched.

Does it remove all hidden information?

No. Comments, form data, embedded files and the XMP block can still hold information. This edits the document details only.
