CSV to JSON

Convert CSV to a JSON array of objects in your browser, using the header row as keys, with numbers, true/false and null typed if you want.

Off, every value stays a string. Numbers too long to keep exactly always stay strings.

Stays on your device

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else.

Building something to sell?

Sellstamp has a storefront, a checkout into your own payment account, automatic delivery and an API with webhooks. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Paste the CSV, with a header row.
  2. Choose whether to turn numbers and booleans into JSON values.
  3. Copy or download the JSON.

Nothing you paste leaves this page

The conversion runs in this browser tab. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, which matters for configuration files, customer exports and tokens.

What it reads

Comma, semicolon, tab or pipe delimited files (detected from the first line), quoted fields with doubled quotes, line breaks inside quotes, and Windows or Unix line endings, as RFC 4180 describes. A missing closing quote is reported rather than silently merging rows.

Numbers too long for JavaScript to hold exactly (more than 15 or so digits, such as some ids) are kept as strings, so they do not lose their last digits.

Questions

What if my CSV uses semicolons?

It is detected automatically from the first line.

Why is my long ID a string?

It is too long to be stored exactly as a JSON number, so it is kept as text to avoid losing digits.

What if a column has no name?

It is called column1, column2 and so on, by position.

Is there a size limit?

No fixed limit; very large files are limited by your browser’s memory.
