Direction

Stays on your device

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else.

Building something to sell?

Sellstamp has a storefront, a checkout into your own payment account, automatic delivery and an API with webhooks. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Choose encode or decode.
  2. Paste the text or the Base64.
  3. Copy the result.

Nothing you paste leaves this page

The conversion runs in this browser tab. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, which matters for configuration files, customer exports and tokens.

UTF-8 throughout

Text is encoded as UTF-8 first, so letters such as š or emoji survive the round trip, unlike the browser’s plain btoa(). Decoding accepts standard and URL-safe Base64, with or without padding, and refuses bytes that are not text, pointing images to the Base64 to image tool.

Questions

Is Base64 encryption?

No. Anyone can decode it. It only turns bytes into safe text.

What is URL-safe Base64?

The same encoding with - and _ instead of + and /, and usually no = padding, so it can sit in a URL or a file name.

Why does decoding say it is binary data?

The Base64 holds a file such as an image, not text. Use Base64 to image for pictures.

Does it handle emoji and accents?

Yes: text is encoded as UTF-8.
