SellstampRemove EXIF
Remove EXIF, GPS location, XMP and other hidden metadata from JPG, PNG and WebP photos in your browser, without re-compressing them.
JPG, PNG or WebP. Cleaned in this tab, never uploaded. The pixels are not re-compressed.
So a portrait phone photo still shows upright. It reveals nothing about you.
Your file stays on your device
Your browser opens and processes the file itself. It is never uploaded, to Sellstamp or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Selling images?
Photos, templates, presets or artwork: Sellstamp gives them a storefront and delivers the files automatically after payment. Open a free store
How to use it
- Choose or drop your photos.
- Keep “Keep the orientation” on so portrait photos stay upright.
- Remove the metadata and download the clean copies.
Your images are not uploaded
Your browser opens the image, does the work in this tab, and saves the result back to your device. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, so there is no upload to wait for and no copy on a server afterwards.
Lossless: the pixels are not touched
Most tools remove metadata by decoding the photo and saving it again, which costs a little quality. This one cuts the metadata blocks out of the file itself: EXIF (camera, settings, date, GPS), XMP, IPTC and comments in JPG; text and EXIF chunks in PNG; EXIF and XMP in WebP. The image data is copied byte for byte.
What is kept, and why
Colour profiles stay, because removing them changes how colours are shown. The orientation is kept by default (it says only which way is up, not who or where you are), so a portrait phone photo does not turn sideways.
Questions
How do I remove the location from a photo?
Add the photo here and download the clean copy. GPS coordinates are part of EXIF, which is removed.
Does this reduce quality?
No. Metadata blocks are cut out of the file; the image data is not decoded or re-compressed.
Why keep the orientation?
Phones store many photos sideways with a note to turn them. Without it, a portrait photo shows sideways. It reveals nothing about you.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP. For HEIC, convert to JPG first; converting also drops metadata.
How can I check it worked?
Open the clean copy in the EXIF viewer: it should show no camera or location data.
