PNG to JPG

Convert PNG images to JPG in your browser, choosing the quality and the colour that replaces transparent areas. Nothing is uploaded.

Transparent areas become the background colour you choose. Never uploaded.

80 to 90 looks the same as the original for photos.

Your file stays on your device

Your browser opens and processes the file itself. It is never uploaded, to Sellstamp or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Selling images?

Photos, templates, presets or artwork: Sellstamp gives them a storefront and delivers the files automatically after payment. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop your PNG images.
  2. Pick the JPG quality; 85 to 90 is a good default.
  3. Choose the background colour for transparent areas.
  4. Convert and download.

Your images are not uploaded

Your browser opens the image, does the work in this tab, and saves the result back to your device. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, so there is no upload to wait for and no copy on a server afterwards.

Transparency has to go somewhere

JPG has no transparency. Every transparent or partly transparent pixel is blended onto the background colour you choose, so a logo with soft edges gets soft edges on white (or your colour) rather than a dark fringe.

When JPG is the right choice

For photos saved as PNG, converting to JPG often makes the file many times smaller with no visible change. For screenshots, text and flat graphics, JPG adds soft halos around sharp edges; keep those as PNG or use WebP.

Questions

Will my PNG lose quality as a JPG?

A little, because JPG is lossy. At 85 to 90% it is not visible for photos. Text and sharp graphics show it more.

Why is the background white?

JPG cannot be transparent, so transparent areas are filled. Choose any colour before converting.

How much smaller will the file be?

For a photo saved as PNG, often several times smaller. For a small graphic, the JPG may not be smaller at all.

Can I convert many PNGs at once?

Yes, up to 100, downloaded together as a zip.
