AVIF to JPG

Convert AVIF images to JPG in your browser, for programs and sites that do not accept AVIF yet. Nothing is uploaded.

Converted in this tab, never uploaded.

80 to 90 looks the same as the original for photos.

Your file stays on your device

Your browser opens and processes the file itself. It is never uploaded, to Sellstamp or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Selling images?

Photos, templates, presets or artwork: Sellstamp gives them a storefront and delivers the files automatically after payment. Open a free store

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop your AVIF images.
  2. Pick the quality and a background for transparent areas.
  3. Convert and download.

Your images are not uploaded

Your browser opens the image, does the work in this tab, and saves the result back to your device. Nothing is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else, so there is no upload to wait for and no copy on a server afterwards.

About AVIF

AVIF is a newer format that is often smaller than WebP and JPG at the same quality, and images saved from websites increasingly arrive as AVIF. Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can open it, which is what this tool uses; many older programs still cannot, so a JPG copy is the safe choice to share or edit.

Questions

Why does my computer not open AVIF files?

Many older programs and some operating systems have no AVIF support yet. A JPG copy opens everywhere.

Does it work in every browser?

It works in browsers that can display AVIF: current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

Will the JPG be larger?

Usually, because AVIF compresses better. The picture looks the same at 90% quality.

What happens to transparency?

It is filled with the background colour you choose, since JPG cannot be transparent.
