  3. Pick a tone and whether a licence key is included.
  4. Copy the subject, the text and the HTML into your email tool.

Worked out in your browser

Nothing you type here is sent to Sellstamp or anyone else; the numbers, keys and text are made in this tab.

What a delivery email needs

The download link near the top, any licence key with a note to keep it safe, how long the link works and how many downloads it allows (so customers save the file), and how to get help. Merge tags in braces, such as {customer_name} and {download_link}, are left for your store to fill in. Everything is escaped in the HTML, so a shop name with an ampersand is shown correctly.

Questions

What are the words in braces?

Merge tags: placeholders your store replaces with the customer’s name, download link or licence key for each order.

Does Sellstamp send these emails?

Yes. Sellstamp sends a delivery email with the download link or licence key after each payment; use this template if you send your own.

Should I include an expiry date?

If your links expire, yes: it tells customers to save the file promptly, which prevents support requests.

Will the HTML work in every email client?

It uses simple paragraphs and one inline-styled link, which email clients render reliably.
