How to use it

  1. Type your business name, if you want it to appear in some lines.
  2. Type what the slogan should be about, in one or two words.
  3. Choose a tone and shuffle a few times with different keywords.
  4. Read the shortlist out loud and keep the ones that are short and specific.

What this actually does

It fills a few dozen sentence shapes with your own words. That is the honest description, and it is deliberately not dressed up as writing: what a tagline generator is good for is breaking the blank page, and the line you eventually use will be one of these with two words changed.

Shuffle gives you a different draw from the same set rather than more of the same one, so it is worth a few goes with different keywords — the keyword does more work here than the tone does.

Which one to keep

Read them out loud. A slogan is heard more often than it is read, and the ones that survive that test are short, concrete and specific enough that a competitor could not put their own name in front of them. If yours would work equally well for any business in your industry, it is not saying anything.

Questions

How does the slogan maker work?

It fills a few dozen sentence shapes with your words. That is the honest description: it is for breaking the blank page, and the line you use will probably be one of these with a word or two changed.

What makes a good slogan?

Short, concrete and specific enough that a competitor could not put their own name in front of it. If it would fit any business in your industry, it is not saying anything.

Can I use these slogans commercially?

There is no licence restriction from this tool on what it generates. Short common phrases may already be used or registered by someone else, so check the trade mark register before you print it on everything.

Why does the keyword matter more than the tone?

Most of the meaning comes from the word you give it. Try a few different keywords before changing the tone.
