How to use it

  1. Type what you sell in a word or two. Two words also give compounds and blends.
  2. Pick the industry that is closest.
  3. Shuffle until a few names stand out.
  4. Check your favourites against the company and trade mark registers before you commit.

How the names are made

There is no model behind this and no request leaves your browser. Your keywords are run through the shapes real company names take — a prefix (Evergreen), a suffix (Coffeely), a compound (Kettle & Crumb), and a blend, which overlaps two words where they already agree: bread and adventure share ad, so they splice into breadventure.

The industry you pick supplies the second half of those compounds, and it is stocked with concrete words — beans, thread, timber, kiln. You will not find Solutions, Systems or Group in it, on purpose: those three words are most of what separates a name somebody uses from a name that reads like a spam folder.

Before you settle on one

A name being available as a domain does not mean it is free to trade under. Check your country’s company register and its trade mark register for the same words in your class of business — those are separate searches from the domain one, and they are the ones that matter if somebody else got there first.

Questions

How are the names made?

Your keywords are run through patterns real company names follow: a prefix, a suffix, a compound such as “Kettle & Crumb”, and blends where two words overlap. No AI model is involved and nothing leaves your browser.

Are the names free to use?

Not necessarily. A name can be taken as a company or a trade mark even if no one owns the domain. Search your country’s company register and trade mark register before you use one.

Why do I get different names each time?

Each list is drawn with a fresh random seed, so Shuffle gives a different selection from the same patterns rather than the same eight names every time.

Can I check whether the domain is free?

Yes: take a name you like to the domain name generator, which asks the registry whether it is registered.
