# Embedded checkout > Put a buy button on your own site. The checkout opens in an overlay on your page, and only the sites you list may show it. Page: https://sellstamp.com/docs/developers/embeds ## Allow your sites first Under **Storefront → Embed**, list the origins allowed to embed your checkout. Until you add one, the embed is off and its URL answers 404. Changes take effect within about 30 seconds. - **https://example.com**: Allowed. An origin is a scheme and a host. - **https://example.com:8443**: Allowed. Include the port if you use one. - **http://localhost:5173**: Allowed, for trying it on your own machine. - **example.com**: Refused: no scheme. - **https://*.example.com**: Refused: no wildcards. Each subdomain is its own entry. - **https://example.com/shop**: Refused: no paths. Any page on the site may embed. - **http://example.com**: Refused: a secure page cannot be framed by an insecure one. ## The snippet The Embed page gives you this, filled in with your store’s address and a product: ```
``` - `data-sellstamp-product` is the product’s slug. - `data-sellstamp-label` changes the button text. - `data-sellstamp-coupon` and `data-sellstamp-qty` pre-fill the form, like a [buy link](https://sellstamp.com/docs/developers/checkout-links). - Put as many placeholders on a page as you like. One script tag serves them all. - The button is a plain `button.sellstamp-buy-button` with no styling, so your CSS decides how it looks. ## What the customer sees The same checkout as your product page: options, quantity deals, the discount field, VAT and address fields where they apply, and your terms. It is the same component, so it cannot drift. A processor with its own payment page, like Stripe or PayPal, opens in your page rather than inside the frame, because those pages refuse to be framed. ## What does not carry into an embed - Affiliate referrals. Browsers block the referral cookie inside a frame, so send affiliate traffic to your store's own page. - Visitor analytics. Nothing is measured inside someone else's page. Embed sales still appear in your orders. ## If it does not appear - **No button**: The script found no data-sellstamp-product, or the slug is wrong. - **An empty overlay**: This page's origin is not on your list. Add it exactly as the browser reports it. - **A 404**: Your list is empty, or the product is not published.
